Equipment Manager

Porterville Rock and Recycle Inc is currently hiring an Equipment Manager to join our team. The Equipment Manager oversees the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of the company's fleet of heavy equipment/on road equipment, including scheduling preventative maintenance, managing a team of mechanics, shop personnel, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating with other departments to minimize equipment downtime and optimize operational costs, acting as the leader of all aspects of equipment management within the organization. 

 Pay:

$80,000-$100,000 per year salary (depending on experience)

 

Job Type:

·         Full Time

·         Monday – Friday

·         Saturdays may be required

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to identify and address potential issues before they become major breakdowns.

·         Manage maintenance budgets and track repair costs to ensure efficient resource allocation.

·         Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, assigning tasks and ensuring proper training on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

·         Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback to maintain high standards of workmanship.

·         Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for parts and service contracts.

·         Enforce strict safety protocols for equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

·         Monitor equipment utilization to identify areas for improvement and optimize equipment allocation across projects.

·         Plan and coordinate equipment movements to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

·         Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance history, repair costs, and operational data.

·         Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance trends, and budget status for senior management.

Required Skill/Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic and/or maintenance supervisor.  
  • Strong knowledge of equipment and software programs.
  • Able to adapt to changes in the environment including the ability to manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Able to present information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Great organizational and proactive skills.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.

·         Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

·         Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.

  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.).
  • Must be fit for physical lifting and moving parts (50 pounds minimum)
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Previous experience with CAT SIS and Cummins Insite
