Purpose of Role:

The Application Engineer – Aggregates will collaborate with our internal departments and external stakeholders to support business development and sale of products while ensuring customer requirements are met. This position is ideal for individuals who are solutions focused and detail orientated with a strong background in comminution equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support and Customer Engagement: Provide technical support to customers, account managers, and internal personnel. Interpret specifications and utilize simulation software to select appropriate equipment.
  • Quotations and Bids Management: Assist in preparing product quotations and bids and coordinate OE order fulfillment requirements with Weir intercompany suppliers. Develop tools to streamline quotation and application processes.
  • Documentation and Communication: Act as an intermediary between Weir Technology Groups, communicating regional needs and market trends. Utilize CRM software to document project correspondence.
  • Business Development and Client Relations: Travel to key accounts to develop new business and brownfield opportunities. Support aftermarket sales through site visits and collaboration with the technology center. Conduct product presentations and training sessions (e.g., lunch and learns).
  • Industry Engagement and Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Weir’s products and services. Attend trade shows and industry-related meetings as required.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining  / Metallurgy / Mechanical / Chemical / Civil Engineering.
  • Prior experience using mineral processing simulation software such as Aggflow / Bruno, ERP/MRP systems, CAD and/or other Design or engineering software will be considered an asset.
  • Active member of SME, CMP, CIM or other mining organizations would be preferred.
  • Employee must be able to sit, stand, and lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Up to 30% travel is required for this role.
