Nightshift Foreman

The foreman is the frontline supervisor of the nightshift crew and is responsible for managing each employee’s daily goals and tasks. The general foreman job expectations are as follows: 

  • Foremen will set goals for each employee and ensure those employees have the tools and training to meet those goals
  • Address and manage those employees who are not meeting their goals
  • Be able to enforce the working rules and regulations and hold employees accountable by means of disciplinary actions
  • Must have and demonstrate a personal and passionate safety culture and drive in all they do
  • Maintain a daily journal to document the events and discussions that effect each days’ safety and productivity
  • Implement change in the work place in a timely manner by using all available resources
  • The foreman will understand the metrics with which we measure success and be able to plan the work flow on a daily and weekly basis to ensure the site is successful at accomplishing its goals
  • Responsible for the training, cross training, and personal development of each crew member
  • Knowledgeable of the equipment they manage and the extraction operations
  • Maintain First Aid certification and CPR certification
  • Produce a high quality and consistent product to the subsequent plant or end customer
  • Propose and implement changes and new technology on-site
  • Responsible for knowing and understanding all laws, policies, and regulations that affect our operations (MSHA, DMME, EPA, DEQ, MMM, Permits)
  • Have strong time management skills, the ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks
  • Must understand the preventive maintenance that must be performed to minimize unplanned downtime
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and be willing to learn in house computer systems
  • Possess oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Responsible for accurate and timely entry of daily production information and approval of employee time

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil), Business, or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years' experience in aggregate operations with understanding of mineral processing equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated mobile equipment
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a mining environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient on PC to include MS Office suite; Aggflow or other similar a plus
  • Experience with pit design/exploration, drilling, blasting, inventory control, inventory measures and customer service preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as required; including nights and weekends
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical and background check
